Pastoral Counselors engage in active listening that transcends physical and psychological concerns, acknowledging clients as tripartite beings (body, soul, spirit). A comprehensive exploration of a client's spirituality is crucial for identifying the underlying sources of their issues, as neglecting this aspect is akin to removing a primary color from a rainbow—essential for a holistic understanding of the individual.
Initially, I will recommend weekly sessions to establish a rapport with the client. As the client progresses, I will recommend pushing appointments into bi-weekly, tri-weekly or monthly in accordance with the client's developmental progression. How long you are in counseling is totally dependant on "you".

3) During the first session (also known as the "intake" session) I review client information and clients discuss their presenting problems and goals they would like to achieve during counseling. A counseling schedule is established.
